Role: Concept & UX Design
Mojoreads is an alternative book platform that combines a bookstore with an extensive catalog and a reading community centered on social and charitable values, offering a genuine alternative to mainstream monopolists.
Challenges
During a vision and positioning workshop, the goal was defined as sharpening this key message, making it more tangible in execution, and increasing the very low user numbers, as well as boosting engagement and sales figures.
Solution
To achieve this, we first conducted a comprehensive competitor analysis and UX review to identify opportunities, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. We then focused on key elements such as the homepage, site navigation, search functionality, and book categorization and refined them using a lean project approach.
This method ensured cost-efficient improvements with minimal effort for developers. At the same time, we established an agile, sprint-based collaboration with the client’s Indian development team to streamline and optimize internal processes. All components were validated through a usability test conducted with selected community members.
Impact
The usability test demonstrated high user satisfaction, with overall positive feedback from the community. Test participants particularly highlighted the clarity, authenticity, user-friendliness, and aesthetic appeal of the platform:

Additionally, influencers took notice of Mojoreads and began recommending it organically. As a result, user numbers doubled.
